Recalled To Life

Delirium Books is now accepting preorders for its latest title… Recalled To Life.

Weston Ochse returns with the follow-up novel to his Bram Stoker Award winning first novel, Scarecrow Gods!

Adventure with an ex-Special Forces, Hawaiian bouncer, a former NCAA football player turned cryptozoologist, a club girl whose desire to please is intertwined with her desire for pain, and a messianic Bastion whose need to understand the true nature of love means life or death for an entire world. Recalled to Life has been hailed as the post-modern love child of Heinlein, Stephenson, Bradbury, Gaiman and Julie Newmar with Doc Savage and Captain America as proud nurse maids.

More than a horror novel, Recalled to Life begins a road trip into the heart of darkness, the first book in a trilogy that will become known as The Cycle of the Aegis.

“Weston seamlessly combines alternate realities, sadism, theology, and oddball Florida crime noir. If Elmore Leonard wrote speculative fiction…ah, never mind, Ochse has beaten him to it.”

–Christopher Golden, author of The Boy’s Are Back In Town and Myth Hunters

Recalled To Life is a mindblower of a book, brimming with Ochse’s unparalleled imagination…There is no other book like this and there never will be…If Phillip K. Dick, Clive Barker, Charles Dickens and Elmore Leonard got into a back alley brawl with Weston Ochse, this book would be written in their cuts and bruises. And if this opening book is any indication, The Cycle of the Aegis will be an amazing achievement in genre fiction that people will be talking about for MANY years to come.”

– Michael Arnzen, author of Play Dead and Licker

  1. needless to say i’m quite looking forward to this, scarecrows is a hard act to follow though, reckon you’ve done it weston ?? :)

  2. Cannot wait to read this — and the following volumes!

  3. Is this better than Scarecrow Gods? You had to go there didn’t you. Scarecrow Gods was a coming of age story about a young man guided by ande older mentor. If anything, Recalled to Life and the ensuing two books is the coming of age story of an older man ( who never grew up), mentored by a younger man. I think that they are different enough, but I’m never going to be able to escape the comparisons.

  4. if there are comparisons to be made that can only be a good thing from a quality point of view. i was going to ask if there were any kids in this one.. seems there aren’t..but coming of age stories have been some of my favourite in the genre since i’ve been reading, character building on a grand scale, love it.:)
