The reviewer states that Failure is his/her first Everson read. That’s a shame. Go get Covenant while it’s still around, damnit!

It’s always nice to see someone giving John some press- the guy’s a damn fine writer! One of my favorites Delirium has turned me onto. I keep hoping to hear some news on the sequel to Covenant…

The sequel to Covenant is actually in my hands as we speak. It’s called Sacrifice and it’s around 100K words. Alan Clark has signed on to do the cover. We’ll have more info on it shortly.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s great news. But I’ve always been stupefied by word counts. How many pages does that make? Not that it matters overly much. Just curious.

yes yes yes yes !!! just made my weekend..
just when i think a certain book is my most anticipated and eagerly awaited, you pop up with another absolute gem.
on wordcounts.. iread recently that the rising was 85′000, so if you use that as a bench mark so to speak.. your looking at around the 350 pages..40 pages more than covenant.. great job john.. every release recently seems to be world class, and the quality of author and stories that are due are mind blowing..
this is my most eagarly anticipated release now, along with with baja, recalled, his pain, hacks.. see what i mean, damn it..
BIG FUCKIN THUMBS UP TO BOTH JOHN AND SHANE !!!

Excellent for both John and Delirium with the positive press. And to know that the Covenant sequel is going to happen is great thing. Covenant was a damn fine book.

Wow! Just logged on to check the news and saw this flurry of comments. Thanks for all the kind words and I’m glad you guys are anticipating SACRIFICE…it’s actually been completed for a year now, so I am anticipating it too
SACRIFICE is a much more “hardcore” book in some ways than COVENANT, as it finds Joe and Malachai teaming up with a burgeoning young witch to thwart a sexy serial killer who’s using ritual erotic sacrifice to open the door to this world to the Curburide spirits that are referred to in COVENANT. The book is kind of a road trip novel in some ways too, as the characters visit Denver, San Francisco, Phoenix, Austin and more…
I talked to Alan Clark on the phone a couple times last month to describe some scenes that he could use to drive his cover — so I can’t WAIT to see what he comes up with. I used my first royalty check from COVENANT to buy his original art from that book I loved it so much.
As far as what I’ve been up to lately — I’ve mainly worked on a couple novellas (including a Kolchak: The Night Stalker story) and short stories so far this year. Having a baby last summer and trying to sell our house and move this summer has really cut down on my available writing time, so I haven’t started novel #3 yet…but I’m hoping to start work on a big project again this fall. I’ve got a handful of possible books in the idea hopper…just need to get busy on one!

hey john..
congrats on the not quite so new arrival, thats the first i’d heard of he/she.. completely understand you not having much time, that first year is a stroll in the park though, right ?? hehe
now get back to doing what you do best damn it, entertaining us !!

Hey Macker! Thanks - the not-so-new arrival is a boy — Shaun. And I actually finished the last round of edits on SACRIFICE during my couple weeks at home on “paternity leave” last July. So the book is exactly a year old this week! The boy turned a year old on July 15. He’s amazing…but life still hasn’t managed to find a good pattern yet. Or at least not one that involves plenty of sleep AND writing time for dad.
