The New DB.com
Welcome to the newly designed Deliriumbooks.com. The new site is now up and running. It features a shift to a more customer friendly catalog with easy links to the other two parts (The Insider and the message board).
The shopping cart hasn’t changed; it just has a new look. Customers can now:
- Create an account or log in to their existing accounts (please remember that your insider or message board passwords are not linked to the catalog; it is a separate log in)
- View their order history (which begins only with orders placed since the new shopping cart went live on March 12, 2007)
- Create a wish list
- Get tracking information on packages shipped
Also, the catalog is now interactive as registered customers can rate Delirium titles and write mini-reviews.
Another nice thing about this system is that it keeps inventory so that if a customer mistakenly orders two and cancels one, then a unit will come back as available on the site, like it recently did with Brian Keene’s The Rising: Selected Scenes From The End Of The World. Due to a cancellation, a single copy of this book was recently available again in the Delirium catalog (it sold tonight).
You’ll also notice that several things existing on the Insider have moved or are now linked to the catalog, including the future and past titles pages, the book divisions, contact page, etc.
Also, I’ve solved the Paypal problem with pre-orders. Now, all orders with Paypal will be billed (in stock and forthcoming) separately outside the check-out process. This solves the problem of the shopping cart automatically forwarding customers to the Paypal site to transfer funds for pre-ordered books. Now you can select ‘Paypal Bill’ and you will receive a bill when each book is ready to ship.
Please let me know what you guys think…

Really great job, Shane. I agree with Macker. Very easy to navigate and it looks fantastic. Best look yet , I think. And the shopping system is the best on the internet. I love the fact I can see my past orders. Of course I cringe at the total and think, ‘No, I couldn’t have spent that much in the past 6 months?”
I love it.

glad my lifers books aren’t in there or I’d shriek at the totals.
Great job Shane. Best book catalog and shopping site out there.
