Gleefully Macabre Tales
NOW AVAILABLE TO PREORDER!
Cemetery Dance magazine says that “No author working today comes close to Jeff Strand’s perfect mixture of comedy and terror.” Gleefully Macabre Tales compiles 32 of his most twisted blends of cringe-worthy horror and ghoulish humor, with a couple of serious pieces thrown in just to mess with you.
This collection includes tales from his three chapbooks (Two Twisted Nuts, Socially Awkward Moments With An Aspiring Lunatic, and Funny Stories of Scary Sex) and numerous other stories both popular and obscure, including “Really, Really Ferocious” (the one with the wiener dog), “High Stakes” (the one with the slot machine), “Roasting Weenies by Hellfire” (the one with Satan), “The Bad Candy House” (the one with a very unpleasant old man at Halloween) and “The Socket” (the one with the eyeball socket).
It also includes two of his entries in the World Horror Convention gross-out contest. But you don’t want to read them.
So if you’re looking to laugh, gasp, gag, or do all three at the same time, making sort of a weird sound that hurts your lungs and elicits odd glances from nearby pedestrians, don’t miss Gleefully Macabre Tales!
This title is covered under Delirium’s Hardcover Subscription Plan. HC subscribers will automatically receive this title at the time it is published.
Less than 90 copies will be available to order. The last Delirium / Strand book sold out in 5 hours and 15 minutes!

Wow that server is taking a hit! I don’t recall seeing it that slow before! I think the Mr. Corpse sellout time will be beat!
Comment by JeffStrand on 25 September 2007:
Nahhhh…not with a short story collection. But people would be FOOLISH to dilly-dally in reserving their copy!
Comment by Stevefaust on 25 September 2007:
I don’t know Jeff, I think it will!
Comment by JeffStrand on 25 September 2007:
Argh!!! The pressure! The pressure!
Comment by Stevefaust on 25 September 2007:
Pressure was good too
Comment by kresby on 25 September 2007:
Pressure was great.
Comment by sanddanz on 25 September 2007:
I waited around until the book went on sale before taking lunch today and boy was this site slow at that time!!! Congrats on the great sells thus far Jeff!
Comment by JeffStrand on 25 September 2007:
That’s right–I have the power to control people’s lunch times! Oh, the sweet, sweet power! Hahahahahaha!!!
Comment by sanddanz on 25 September 2007:
So why does the article above say “Less than 90 copies will be available to order.” if there were truly 300 being printed? *confused look*
Comment by Stevefaust on 25 September 2007:
210 copies were accounted for by the Hardcover Subscription (see the catalog), and (I believe) retailer orders.
Comment by kresby on 25 September 2007:
I would imagine that LIfetime subscriptions and Hardcover subs cover the rest with a few thrown in for Shane.
Comment by JeffStrand on 25 September 2007:
Yes, retailer orders count for a chunk of the 210 copies.
Comment by sanddanz on 25 September 2007:
Ahh… so I am one of the lucky 90!
Thanks for explaining.
Comment by Scott Berke on 25 September 2007:
Jeff ordered 200 copies himself so he could build a fort out of them in his living room.
Comment by Shane Staley on 25 September 2007:
Yes, there are now more than 100 hardcover subscribers, almost the same amount as the total bookellers’ standing orders.
Comment by JeffStrand on 26 September 2007:
Scott found me out. My SINISTER MR. CORPSE fort was starting to look kind of raggedy.
