My name is Mike Bodak, and I am a true horror fan. I’ve been watching and reading horror since I was able. I strayed from horror fiction in the 90’s like many other readers. When I came back to check things out in 2004, a lot had changed. There was a lot of new fiction and a new energy to the genre. I have collected books for decades. My library is my pride and joy. I have books by countless different publishers, but I only consistently buy from a handful of publishers and Delirium is part of that small group. Why do I buy from Shane? His books are made with quality materials and he inspects the books very closely. His quality control is simply the best in the business. He also has a great eye for quality writing. I have tried new authors because of Shane’s suggestions and I have yet to be disappointed. Bottom line. If you want to own quality collectable books and you need to buy Delirium titles. If you don’t your collection will be sub-par.

What can I say about Delirium that hasn’t been said? Living in the UK, sometimes it’s fairly hit and miss with US publishers but not with Delirium. The books are fantastic quality, published and delivered when they say they are going to be and the communication is fab. The Lettered editions are works of art. They smell great too. When I first started buying Delirium books I would pick and choose books that sounded appealing to me and authors that I enjoy. I would lurk on the old DB message board and see what was happening in the DB community. Since then I’ve come to find out that within our genre, Shane and Delirium Books are hands down, the best in the business. Customer service has always been friendly and top notch. You’re treated more like a friend around here than a customer. I dig that. I also dig the quality of the books. The paper, the binding, the leather, the foil stamped covers, the art on the dustjackets. Delirium always goes the next step as well and protects your dustjacket in mylar and expertly packs and ships every order. I love the diverse selection of authors and artists, and the timely schedule in which books come out. I don’t know of any other press that comes out with so many titles each year. And we get stories from the best authors around as well as up and coming writers that don’t disappoint. Just in the past year I’ve seen Delirium’s site improve leaps and bounds. The Insider is an invaluable section where we get all the latest updates. The new store is by far the best online store I’ve used. Easy access. I have my own account. I can see what I’ve ordered and what I have pre-ordered. A few years ago, I would pick and choose a few DB books that I would want. These days I buy every title direct from Delirium. As a reader and a collector you can’t go wrong. And I love knowing being signed up with a Hardcover Limited, and Hardcover Chapbook Subscriptions that I won’t miss out on the major titles. I’m also lucky enough to have an X-series, Dark Essential and Lifetime subscriptions. I’m an addict now. And thank The Big Lizard that DB has an awesome community message board where you can relate with other addicts. All great people. Simply, I love Delirium Books.

I mean the horror author that somehow goes under the radar of the so called bigger publishing houses… The company of writers that Shane has gotten together to form the Delirium family are some of the best in the business…and you should be at the very least, picking up a few paperbacks after reading this. I’ve always been a fan of the underdog, the small press if you will, and have tried to do what I could to support any and all. Its tough to see guys like Matt from Shocklines go down (swinging, Id like to add), but buying direct from the source material is always the best way I have felt to get whatever product I was after. Plus, by buying it direct from the publisher, you cut out the middle-man, and show the original publisher that the pain and anguish,(I’m sure Shane could vouch for this),and all of the hard work is worth it. Even the big guys have to take a second to stop and notice that the Keene’s, Gifune’s, Lee’s, and Lebbon’s of today will be the King’s, Koontz’s, and Rice’s of tomorrow.

I have been following Delirium Books since it began. I support Delirium Books for one simple fact. They ROCK! I have been introduced to authors through Delirium Books that I may never have read if they were published by another company and am currently a true fan of their work. Since I am subscribed to the Insider, I know when new titles are up for pre-order, when there are amazing deals on damaged copies, and what current titles are available. It’s so easy to shop the site, too. One feature I have found to be especially helpful is the Order History section where I can see what I have paid for, what titles I have on pre-order, and view online copies of all invoices.
